Using every medium she can get her hands on, Valerie creates her own rules for what it means to be an artist. Using a wide variety of tools and skills ranging from from painting in acrylic and watercolor, to digital illustrations and graphic design to hosting television shows and painting live at events as large as the Super Bowl, she's a uniquely creative force.

In addition to her non-traditional artistic approach, she also doesn't like to limit herself to the traditional gallery approach to selling her work. Armed with a degree in advertising and design from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design (MCAD), she prefers to create her own ways to promote her work, including creating her own website and blog,hosting events and engaging with her fans through social media.  Her contemporary artwork and meaningful commissions can be found in homes and businesses around the U.S.

 

In addition to her artistic career, Valerie has also has established herself as a leading fashion model, where she has traveled the globe shooting everything from magazine covers and brands such as Spanx, Champion, Calvin Klein and Target.  It was through her work as a model where she learned to explore more meaningful and creative collaborations with the brands she worked for, including live performances at events and custom illustrations. Her work as a model has also paid for much of her college degree and influenced her style of artwork and her own line of jewelry.
